Method: |
- Sift flour, measure and resift with baking powder,
salt and sugar.
- Combine well beaten egg and milk and add to dry ingredients,
stirring quickly until flour is all dampened,
but not until smooth.
- Fold in nuts just enough to distribute.
- Turn into buttered loaf pan ( 8 x 4 x 2 1/2 inches ),
pushing well into corners.
- Bake in a slow oven ( 300 ° F ) for 20 minutes;
then increase heat to moderate ( 375 ° F ) and
bake 25 to 30 minutes longer or until nicely browned and
well done.
- Yield: 1 Loaf.
