 Sandwich


*   Cheese And Tomato Sandwiches   *


Ingredients:
  • 4 Medium Sized Tomatoes
  • 10 Slices Buttered Toast
  • 10 Thin Slices Cheese


Method:
  • Cut tomatoes in thick slices and arrange on
    buttered toast.

  • Lay slices of cheese over the tomatoes and
    place under broiler until cheese is lightly
    toasted and tomatoes are hot.

  • Makes 10 Open Face Sandwiches.




*   Toasted Cheese And Ham Sandwiches   *


Ingredients:
  • 1/2 Lb. Cheese,
    Grated Or Sliced
  • 10 Slices Buttered Bread
  • 5 Thin Slices Boiled Ham


Method:
  • Place grated or sliced cheese on 5 slices of the
    buttered bread; cover each with a ham slice and
    top with another slice of bread.

  • If desired, spread ham with a little mustard
    before covering.

  • Toast on both sides in broiler; or if desired,
    sandwiches may be put together buttered sides
    out and pan fried as is.

  • Yield: 5 Sandwiches.




*   Deviled Egg Sandwiches   *


Ingredients:
  • 5 Hard Boiled Eggs
  • 2 Tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • Salt To Taste
  • Prepared Mustard, If Desired
  • 10 Slices Buttered Bread
  • 5 Leaves Lettuce Or
        1 Bunch Watercress


Method:
  • Shell the eggs and put them through a ricer or sieve.

  • Mix thoroughly with mayonnaise, salt and mustard,
    then spread on 5 of the bread slices.

  • Cover with lettuce or cress and lay remaining slices
    of bread on top.

  • Yield: 5 Sandwiches.




*   Egg And Bacon Sandwiches   *


Ingredients:
  • 4 Hard Boiled Eggs
  • 4 Slices Bacon, Cooked
  • 1/4 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 10 Slices Bread, Buttered
  • 5 Leaves Lettuce


Method:
  • Shell eggs and chop rather fine; mix with the crumbled
    bacon and mayonnaise.

  • Spread on half the slices of buttered bread; cover each
    with lettuce leaf and place another slice of bread on
    top.

  • Cut each sandwich in fingers.

  • Yield: 5 Sandwiches.




*     Egg Salad Sandwiches     *


Ingredients:
  • 5 Hard Boiled Eggs
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Pickles
  • 1 Teaspoon Prepared Mustard
  • Salt To Taste
  • 10 Slices Buttered Bread


Method:
  • Shell eggs and chop rather fine.

  • Mix with pickles, mustard and salt.

  • Spread on half the slices of buttered bread;
    top with remaining slices.

  • Cut sandwiches diagonally in halves.

  • Makes 5 Sandwiches.
